Red Carpet-VMA 2013 // Kırmızı Halı-VMA 2013

Here is a Red Carpet post after a long time. VMA is now on the front burner not only with the looks but also with the shows. Even though the performances of Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus -especially her- is trending right now, let's talk about the dresses of the night.

Uzun bir aradan sonra yeni bir kırmızı halı yazısıyla karşınızdayız. VMA ödülleri bu yıl kırmızı halı görünüşleriyle olduğu kadar şovlarıyla da gündemimize damga vurdu. Hala Lady Gaga ve özellikle Miley Cyrus performansları konuşulurken biz gecenin kırmızı halı kıyafetlerine bir göz atalım en iyisi...

We are starting with the worst dressed celebrity, as always. I am surprised like anyone else to see the transformation of Miley Cyrus. When you think about the about the times that she was Hannah Montana, it is impossible not to be surprised. With the fact that she was a real disaster with her performance, her choice of dress is as disasterous as seeing her 'twerking'. She tried have some sort of style but she is not even close to that. I don't want you to see this anymore and go on with the next celebrity.

Her zamanki gibi en rüküş isimle başlıyoruz. Miley Cyrus'un değişimi herkesi olduğu gibi beni de çok şaşırtıyor. Nerde Hannah Montana nerde simdiki Miley... Performansıyla oldukça hayal kırıklığı yaratmasının yanında maalesef kırmızı halı için seçtiği kıyafet de kötü mü kötü. Tarz yaratmaya çalışmış ama hiç becerememiş. Bu görüntüye sizi daha fazla maruz bırakmak istemiyor ve bir sonraki ünlüye geçiyorum.

Doesn't the dress of Katy Perry also look familiar to you? Yes, yes, it is the exact same dress that Coco Rocha wore at Met Gala. The only difference is that this dress is a shorter version. When I wrote about that dress, I told that I didn't like that dress, and I still don't like it. Let's move on without making the same comments...

And now, we have Sarah Hyland from Modern Family. And while speaking of Modern Family, I need to tell you, it is one of the best comedy series in the last years, you are missing A LOT if you are not watching. Whatever, let's get to our subject. Hyland is a total disappointment for me with this dress. I don't really understand why she chose such a dress that made her look so older than she actually is. Also, the fabric and the pattern of the dress is quite bad. It looks like a vintage curtain. And the shoes are not going well with that dress. Without pushing harder, I am going on with the next celebrity.

Sırada Modern Family'den tanıdığımız Sarah Hyland var. Bu arada hazır Modern Family demişken söylemeden geçemiycem son yıllardaki en iyi komedi dizilerinden biri, hala izlemiyorsanız çok şey kaçırıyorsunuz. Neyse biz konumuza dönelim, Hyland bu kıyafetiyle tam bir hayal kırıklığı yarattı bende. Yaşından çok ama çok büyük göstermesine neden olan bu kıyafeti neden tercih etmiş anlamış değilim. Ayrıca kıyafetin kumaşı da deseni de baya kötü. Eski zaman perdelerini andırıyor sanki. Ayakkabıları ise hiç yakıştıramadım. Daha fazla Hyland'ın üstüne gitmeden sırada ki ünlüye geçiyorum hemen. 

Unfortunately, there were many bad dresses in VMA. Rita Ora has managed to get into the list of worst dressed celebrities with this dress. Even though I like the top part of this dress, the black belt and the bottom is really looking awful. Maybe if there was no belt, she might have made it out of the list; but with this look, she has no chance.

Bu yılki ödül töreninde maalesef çok fazla kötü kıyafet vardı. Rita Ora da gecenin rüküşleri arasına girmeyi başardı bu kıyafetiyle. Kıyafetinin üst kısmını çok beğensem de siyah kemer ve etek kısmı gerçekten çok kötü görünüyor. Kemer olmasa yine bi derece kurtarabilirmiş belki rüküş olmaktan ama bu haliyle hiç şansı yok.

And we are beyond the worse! We are now starting with the better ones with Ellie Goulding. Even though I like the pattern and the balance with the shoues, the arms of the dress prevented it from being a chic dress. It should have been either with long sleeves or an inch shorter. Nevertheless, I congratulate Ellie Goulding for her choice.

 Gecenin rüküşlerini geride bırakarak, Ellie Goulding'le devam ediyoruz. Goulding'in elbisesinin desenini ve ayakkabılarla olan uyumunu beğensem de kol kısmı şık bir elbise olmasını engellemiş malesef. Çok ara bir boy olmuş sanki kendi kesmiş gibi duruyor. Ya uzun kollu ya da iki santim daha kısa olmalıydı. Yine de elbise seçiminden dolayı Goulding'i tebrik ediyorum.

Jennifer Hudson has made an absolutely legitimate choice of dress in my opinion. Neither extravagant nor plain. I might say that this dress this is the most fitting choice for a night like this. Her leather pencil skirt, pointy heels, bustier... They are so trendy. The only problem is her exaggerated jewelry. Two bracelets and that flamboyant necklace is a bit going far. With this choice, Hudson is soo close to getting into the list of best dressed celebrities of the night.

Jennifer Hudson çok yerinde bir kıyafet seçimi yapmış bence. Ne abartı ne de sade bir kıyafet seçmiş. Geceye en uygun seçim diyebilirim. Deri kalem eteği, sivri burun ayakkabıları, büstiyeri trendlere o kadar uygun ki... Tek sorun ise abartılı takıları olmuş bence. İki bileklik ve o gösterişli kolyesi biraz fazla gelmiş. Bu seçimiyle gecenin şıkları arasına girmeye çok ama çok yaklaşıyor Hudson.

Coco Rocha was the coolest celebrity of the night without doubt. Even though the stuff she wore is a bit casual for red carpet, it is still chic anyway. And her hair goes great with her look. Her make-up and jewelry are plain and proper.  I don't think there is much more to say about Rocha. I'm going on with the next celebrity right away.

Coco Rocha tartışmasız gecenin en cool ismiydi. Kıyafeti kırmızı halı için biraz günlük kalsa da kesinlikle çok şık duruyor. Saçı da oldukça uyumlu olmuş kıyafetiyle. Makyajı, takıları da sade ve yerinde olmuş. Rocha için söyleyecek pek fazla söz yok bence. Sıradaki ünlüye geçiyorum hemen.

Holand Roden showed us that you can be both be elegant and comfortable with this choice. Tihe top and the bottom is so much in harmony that if you don't look carefully, you would think that this is a one-piece dress. Her choice of shoes, her hair and her make-up is also absolutely perfect. The only problem is that her pants look as they are not fitting her. Unfortunately, that detail makes the bottom look bad.

Holand Roden şıklığın ve rahatlığın aynı anda yakalanabileceğini göstermiş bize bu seçimiyle. Üstle alt uyumunu öyle güzel yakalamış ki dikkatli bakmayınca bütün elbise gibi duruyor. Ayakkabı, saç ve makyaj seçimi de kesinlikle mükemmel. Tek sorun pantolonunun tam üzerine oturmayıp biraz kat kat duruyor olması. Maalesef o detay pantolon kısmını kötü göstermiş.

And now, it's time for the top 5! Allison Willams has astonished with her plainness. Her hair looks so noble with her dress that she might run against Kate Middleton. Her pointy heels are the best choices for this dress. Also, the makeup that I loved most in VMA is hers. I can't find much to say about Williams, I am really astonished. Let's get to number 4.

Ve en şık 5 isme geldi sıra. Allison Williams sadeliğiyle beni benden aldı. Elbisesi saçıyla beraber öyle asil duruyor ki Kate Middleton'a rakip olabilcek düzeyde. Sivri burun ayakkabıları ise kesinlikle bu kıyafet için en iyi seçim olmuş. Ayrıca gecede en beğendiğim makyaj da onunki. Çok fazla söyleyecek söz bulamıyorum Williams için ve sıradaki ünlüye geçiyorum.

Naya Rivera was simply elegant with her open waist long black dress. The natural look of her hair and her choice of ring was flawless. Rivera is among the best with her plain makeup.

And the third best name of the night for me: Ciara. I love the needlework on the dress. And the tail helped the look with a great breeze. I also love the naturalness of her hair and her makeup. The only part that I don't like is the transparent part of the dress. I think there could have been a bit less transparent details, what do you think? However, speaking of the whole look, Ciara is great.

İşte benim için gecenin en şık 3. ismi Ciara. Kıyafetinin işlemelerine bayıldım. Kuyruk kısmı da çok ayrı bir hava katmış elbiseye. Saçlarının ve makyajının doğallığı da çok yakışmış. Sadece elbisenin transparan kısmına biraz takıldım ben. Daha az transparan detay olabilirdi bence ne dersiniz? Yine de bütün bir görünüşüyle oldukça şık Ciara.

Taylor Swift is the second best celebrity of the night with this dress. The decollete of the dress is so proper. And the needlework around the chest are awesome. The look is absolutely elegant. She chose a different hairstyle and I think there is no better choice of hairstyle that would go better with this dress. I really love her earrings. Like any other event, Taylor Swift once again manages to be one of the best.

Taylor Swift bu mükemmel elbisesiyle gecenin en şık 2. ismi oluyor.  Elbisenin dekoltesi oldukça yerinde. göğüs kısmındaki işlemeler mükemmel. Duruşu ise kesinlikle çok ama çok zarif. Saç modelinde değişik bir tercih yapmış, bu kıyafete daha çok yakışacak bir saç modeli olamazdı sanırım. Küpelerine de tek kelimeyle bayıldım. Her davette olduğu gibi yine en şık isimlerden olmayı başarıyor Taylor Swift bu seçimiyle.

And the best dressed celebrity of the night: Selena Gomez! Gomez is one of the celebrities with a style that I like the most in events. I haven't yet managed to see a wrong choice of her. She has such an elegant and yet so unique look with this dress. I do believe that this choice would turn into a trend. Other than the uniqueness of the dress, the fabric, the slit, and the stones on the side, are just perfect! Her choice of heels are -again- a unique choice, and had a strange but great harmony with her dress. I also love her green earrings! Her makeup is of course cool and plain. Maybe she could have wear her hair in a bun, but her hair is not bad. I congratulate Selena Gomez for these choices, and hope she will always be consistent like this.

İşte gecenin en şık ismi: Selena Gomez! Gomez de davetlerde en şık bulduğum isimlerden biri. Şu ana kadar hiç kötü bir tercih yaptığını görmedim. Bu elbisesiyle de hem çok benzersiz hem de çok şık bir seçim yapıyor yine. Eminim ki bu tercihiyle trend yaratacaktır. Elbisesinin orjinalliğinin yanında kumaşı, yırtmacı, kenarındaki taşları da mükemmel. Ayakkabı tercihi de yine orjinal bir seçim olmuş ve elbisesiyle farklı bir uyum yakalamış. Yeşil küpelerine ise ayrıca bayıldımm. Makyajı da abartısız ve sade tabi ki. Saçını belki topuz yapabilirdi ama bu hali de kesinlikle kötü değil.  Selena Gomez'i bu başarılı tercihleri için kutluyorum ve böyle istikrarlı bir şekilde devam etmesini diliyorum.
