DONNA KARAN's new fragrance,
My NY, is inspired by the people of New York, but that didn't stop the designer
from choosing Kosovo-born, UK-raised Rita Ora as the brand’s
face.
"If
Rita can't sell it, I don't know who can," she said of the singer, who
splits her time between London and New York. "I think Rita's a great
representative of DKNY. She's full of life, she's about what everyone wants to
feel - energy. And I find her ageless. She's like this Energizer Bunny who can
wear anything from track shoes to stilettos, DKNY to Donna Karan. I love the
girl as a person, too. She walks the talk."
Fortunately
Ora is equally as fond of Karan, who she has worked with previously on DKNY
ready-to-wear campaigns. The brand's collaboration with her good friend Cara Delevingne on a
capsule fashion collection was also announced this month.
Housed in a
heart-shaped bottle with a skyline-inspired cap, the scent has top notes of
raspberries, galbanum and pink pepper, a heart of Egyptian jasmine, freesia and
orris root, and a drydown of patchouli, vanilla absolute, musk and ambergris.
